Troop B Announces Transfer & Promotion
Captain Erik A. Gottman, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces the following transfer and promotion effective April 1, 2022.
Sergeant Doug E. Siegfried will transfer from Zone 5 Adair and Schuyler counties and be designated the zone supervisor of Zone 6, serving the citizens of Clark and Scotland counties.
Siegfried was appointed to the Patrol on June 29, 2003, as a member of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s 81st Recruit Class. He graduated from the Patrol Academy on June 10, 2004, and was assigned to Troop B, Zone 4, serving the citizens of Putnam and Sullivan counties. On September 18, 2005, he transferred to Troop B, Zone 6, serving the citizens of Clark and Scotland counties. On February 1, 2012, he was promoted to corporal and designated the assistant zone supervisor of Zone 6. On August 1, 2020, he was promoted to sergeant and designated the zone supervisor of Zone 5, serving the citizens of Adair and Schuyler counties.
Sergeant Siegfried graduated from Nauvoo-Colusa High School in Nauvoo, Illinois. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois. He is married to Kristina (Parker) and they have three children.
Corporal Graydon L. Gaines will be promoted to sergeant effective April 1, 2022, and designated the zone supervisor of Zone 5, Adair and Schuyler counties.
Gaines was appointed to the Patrol on July 1, 2011, and after graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, was assigned to Troop B, Zone 10, Randolph and Monroe counties. In 2013, he transferred to Zone 5. On January 1, 2021, Sergeant Gaines was promoted to the rank of corporal and designated the assistant zone supervisor of Zone 5.
Sergeant Gaines graduated from Kirksville High School in Kirksville, Missouri. Before being appointed to the Patrol, he attended Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. He is currently serving in the Missouri National Guard as the company commander of the 1438th Engineer Company (Multi-Role Bridge Company) based in Macon, Missouri. He is married to Ashley (McDougal) and they have two daughters.
