Macon County individual fully recovers from COVID-19

MACON, MO -- On Monday April 6th, the Macon County Health Department confirmed that one of two cases of COVID-19 in Macon County has resulted in a full recovery. The second case is still active. The health department confirmed the first case of the virus in Macon County on March 25th with the second case being confirmed on March 30th.

Announcement from the Macon County Health Department:

"The Macon County Health Department is pleased to announce one of our positive cases of COVID-19 has officially been recovered.

Recovered means they have experienced ALL 3 of these requirements -

1. They have gone 72 hours fever free, with no fever reducing medications

2. They have seen improvement of their respiratory symptoms (cough, shortness of breath)

3. It has been at least 7 days since symptoms began
