Mary Elizabeth Baker, 99 years old, of Kirksville, Missouri and formerly of Browning, Missouri passed away Wednesday August 17, 2016 at Kirksville Manor Care in Kirksville.

Mary was born on February 9, 1917 in Sullivan County to Sylvester Daniel and Jesse (Fanning) Coffman. In 1936 in Chillicothe, Missouri she married Carlos Ray Baker, he preceded her in death in 1957.
Survivors include: one daughter, Carol McNear of Browning; two sons, Gary Baker and wife Norma of Columbia, Missouri and Bradley Baker and wife Pam of Kirksville; 10 grandchildren, David McNear and wife Kelly, Dennis McNear and wife Pam, Carla Young, Mark McNear and wife Karen, Rhonda Kershner, Gary Wayne Baker, Lori Fleshman and husband Doug, Derek Baker and wife Beth, Tara Lowe and husband T.C., and Ryne Baker; 19 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; three sisters, Josephine Yardley of Raymore, Missouri, Geraldine Lessly of Marion, Indiana, and Darlene Yeo and husband Larry of Kansas City; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; seven brothers; one sister; a son-in-law, Marion McNear; and a grandson-in-law, Lanny Young.

Mary lived most of her life in Sullivan County. She was a member of the Baker Christian Church and the Winigan Rebekah Lodge. Mary enjoyed gardening, flowers, and all things wildlife, especially birds. She made quilts for all her nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Mary loved her family.
A graveside service for Mary will be held 1:30 PM, Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the Baker Cemetery, southeast of Milan. A visitation is scheduled for 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM before the service, at Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Green City, Missouri.
