Jerry William Bonnot Obituary
Jerry William Bonnot, 81, of Macon, MO, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024 at the Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon.
Jerry was born on October 13, 1942, in Bonnots Mill, MO, the son of Theodore and Anne Elizabeth (Mantle) Bonnot. He served in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Reathel Goettling on June 29, 1968, at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, in Belle, MO. Jerry had served as a Boy Scout Leader and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Macon. He enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, fishing with his granddaughters, and spending time with his family.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Reathel of the home; three children, Colleen Phelps and Eddie of Farmington, NM, John Bonnot of Denton, TX, and Laura Mills and her husband Kenneth of Milford NH; two grandchildren, Shana Phelps and Elizabeth Bonnot; two brothers, Donald Bonnot and Donna, and Theodore Bonnot; brother-in-law, Wilford Branson; sister-in-law, Shirley Bonnot; and other extended family.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Joel Bonnot, and Edward Bonnot, and two sisters; Martha Dudenhoeffer and Gertrude Branson.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Friday, June 21, 2024, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Macon, with Rev. Elden Kohn officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am, until the time of the service, at the church. Burial, with full military honors, will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO. The family suggests memorials to the Zion Lutheran Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon.
