District 1 Meeting Held in Paris
District 1 American Legion Auxiliary President Linda Maddox conducted their most recent District meeting at the Senior Community Center in Paris on Sunday, April 7, 2024.
President Linda called the meeting to order, prayer was given by Chaplain, Gail Dietrich of Lewistown. The Pledge and Preamble was led by President Linda. Roll call was held with 6 Auxiliary Units consisting of 8 members present. The Secretary and Treasures report was read by Wanda Burnett, Secretary.
V.P. Michele Emmerich gave a report on membership and upcoming 2022 Girl’ State. It was announced that the membership report shows that Palmyra was in the 98.36 percentile and 5 other units in the 70.59 percentile of membership in the District...
The group had to vote on three classes of poppy posters for a winner to go to Department. District 1 will submit a poster in each class for judging, submitted from Macon Co. R-4 and Bevier C-4 schools. Wanda Burnett, chairman of the Americanism Essays, said there were 4 classes of Essays forwarded to Department for judging from Macon CO. RV School.
President Linda reminded each Unit to send their yearly tracking forms for hours, donations and mileage to her by April 15th. Also a Unit written narrative is also encouraged (to tell the story of those figures) needs to go to the District chairman.
The next District meeting will be June 2, 2024 at the Shelbina Post # 376 at 2 p.m. for the District Convention.
