by Macon County Health Department

The Macon County Health Department will be offering a free, 8-week family winter wellness challenge running from February 5-April 1. This winter wellness challenge is designed for families of all ages and sizes. This challenge will help you and your family make small changes to help improve your health, primarily with nutrition and physical activity by trying new recipes, encouraging movement, and working together as a family to make small, sustainable changes.

Each person who participates will have the option to get a free finger stick cholesterol check at the beginning of the challenge and a voucher to have the check redone in 6 months to monitor changes.

Each week of the winter wellness challenge will receive

· Weekly wellness newsletters

· Access to the free, Facebook group to encourage conversation and accountability

· Weekly challenges

· Prizes each week for a family that completed the challenge

· Easy to follow, budget friendly recipe ideas, with videos
