L. Elaine Keller, 99, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 1, 2024, at her home in St. Peter’s, MO.

Elaine was born on July 24, 1924, in Auburn, NE, the daughter of Lancel and Sylvia (Ogg) Mumford. She graduated from Woodside High School in Des Moines, IA, in 1942/43. Elaine married Joe Dean Keller on June 12, 1943. While her husband served in the U.S. Navy, she spent time in Wyoming. After the war, she returned to Des Moines, IA. In the seventies, they moved to the Macon area where she continued to be a homemaker.

Elaine is survived by two daughters, Anita Henry and her husband Greg of College Mound, MO, and Anita’s three sons, Nick Cash, Juston Ramsy, and Curtis Ramsey, and Trudy Woolbright and her husband Keith of St. Peter’s, and Trudy’s three sons, Andrew Phelps, Matthew Phelps, and Joshua Phelps; one brother, Bill Mumford and his wife, Ivy of Kansas; one sister-in-law, Dorothy of Florida; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe, (the love of her life of 65 years), one granddaughter, Sarah, and one brother, Jerry.

A private family service will be in the Jacksonville Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon, MO.
