Bridge Repairs to temporarily close Route C in Randolph County

Expect Temporary Traffic Impacts on U.S. Route 24

HANNIBAL – Weather permitting, August 15, work will begin on a bridge repair project located on Randolph County Route C, over U.S. Route 24, 3.6 miles east of Missouri Route 3, near Huntsville. The bridge at this location will be closed to traffic beginning August 15; however, all ramps at this location will remain open.

“Work will include repairs to a girder which was hit and damaged last fall," said MoDOT Area Engineer Jeff Kroner. “Traffic will not be allowed to cross the bridge while work is being completed, therefore, motorists will need to use alternate routes for some specific traffic movements. Eastbound U.S. 24 traffic and Route C traffic south of the bridge will be able to access ramps to the south only. Likewise, westbound U.S. 24 traffic and Route C traffic north of the bridge will be able to utilize ramps located north of the bridge only. While repairs are being completed, traffic on U.S. 24 will not be able to travel under this structure but will be rerouted over the ramps," explained Kroner. The project is estimated to be completed by early September.

The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded the contract to PCiRoads, LLC of St. Michael, Minnesota earlier this year with a total cost of $191,058.
