The Director’s Rural Infrastructure News-Kyle Wilkens USDA Rural Development Missouri State Director
USDA Rural Development has wrapped up National Homeownership Month. However, at Rural Development, we are always striving to provide housing assistance. We enjoy partnering with organizations that work with housing issues and repairs. Recently, Missouri Rural Development staff attended the Northeast Community Action Corp (NECAC) Quarterly meeting and Self-Help Housing program event in Hannibal. USDA grants received by NECAC help this program serve eligible veterans and low-income residents during a time when home repair supply costs are rising. The Self-Help Housing program was showcased during the meeting. NECAC helped Hannibal veteran Robert Sergant, tear down his 40-year-old deck and replace it with new material. Missouri Rural Development was proud to partner with NECAC to thank a local veteran for his service and be of assistance with his home.
