Amtrak Train reported to have Derailed near Mendon

June 27-This afternoon a Amtrak train traveling from Los Angeles to Chicago, has reported derailed near Mendon after striking a dump truck at 1:42 PM. The train is to reported to be carrying 243 passengers and 12 crewmembers. It is confirmed that 8 passenger cars and two locomotives were involved. As of this report there is one confirmed fatality, with dozens injured.
