Here’s what is happening at the Macon County Health Department on the week of June 13th

1. WIC certifications and reloads on Monday and Tuesday by appointment. If you missed your recent appointment or need one scheduled, you can call our office!

2. Clinical services such as blood draws, injections, TB tests (Monday and Tuesday), and blood pressure checks.

3. Immunizations – we have required and recommended vaccinations for adults and children. Get in early this summer for back-to-school vaccines. Our knowledgeable nurses are available to answer questions and

a. We accept most insurance and have vaccine for children and 317 vaccines available for uninsured and underinsured adults.

4. COVID-19 vaccines on Thursday, June 16th by appointment. We have Pfizer, Moderna and J&J available for initial, second, and booster doses. Our highly knowledgeable nurses are able to answer questions or concerns on these vaccines. We carry COVID-19 vaccines for ages 5 and up.

Upcoming events

1. CPR certification course for Healthcare providers – June 21st at 9 am. Registration is required and cost of the class is $40 for the 2 year certification.

Breastfeeding tent – we have our breastfeeding tent available to use at your upcoming event. This tent gives mom a private and shaded area to breastfeed her infant if she would like it. Contact Debra at the Health Department for more information or reserve a time to use it at 660-346-7275.

The Macon County Health Department now offers fingerprinting services for background checks, passport photos, and your own personal FBI background check through IdentoGO.
