MACON, MO -- Originally scheduled for Monday morning, January 18th, 2021, the annual breakfast in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. has been cancelled. "We have decided not to hold the annual Martin Luther King Jr. breakfast celebration due to the safety of our community with COVID-19. I would rather keep our citizens safe at home instead of taking the risk of spreading the virus. However, I would like for people to still remember why we gather for this occasion and that we are all responsible in making his dream come true," stated event organizer, Catherine Edwards.

The annual breakfast is typically put on by Macon's Concerned Citizens Organization along with the help of Macon Ministries.
