Macon R-IV extending the layoff due to COVID-19 until April 27, 2020

March 31, 2020

Unfortunately, the district is at this time extending the layoff due to COVID-19 until April 27, 2020. This is the earliest date that regular classes and schedules will resume given the current data, requests, and regulations that are available and in place. The district will continue to adjust the return date as necessary.

Also at this time, our administration and teaching staff are in the process of updating resources and processes for our students during this time away from regular instruction. Information regarding this will be available soon and will be posted here as well as via the district's notification system. We will continue to try and provide resources and instructional materials during this break that will keep our students engaged in the learning process.

The district will also be determining if food services will continue to be made available. Please look here or via the notification system for a new survey regarding this area.

Please continue to take every precaution, including social distancing, as the county is now seeing additional cases that are not travel related. Yesterday the district posted a wifi network that is available in all the parking areas around the main building. The password is Raiders2020. We would ask that everyone remain in cars and keep distance between cars. This is being made available for students who may not have internet access at home. Chariton Valley is also providing an open hotspot just north of the railroad tracks.

The district will continue to provide updates as we continue with this hiatus.
