Riley Koch, 16 years old, of Macon, is planning her second Christmas Party for Foster Families in both Macon and Shelby Counties. The party will be tomorrow (December 14th) from 5:30 until 7:30 in the evening. Place of venue is Macon First Baptist Church. The following information was provided to me by Erin Koch, Riley’s mother:

Hundreds of individuals, businesses and groups help out by sponsoring pajamas, filled stockings, supper, training for the parents and a super fun party for the kids. While the kids visit Santa, bounce houses, face painting, crafts, games, and a kid friendly supper, their foster parents enjoy a fancy dinner with appetizers and a dessert bar, prizes and a Q&A time with the local DFs supervisor.

Last year after the party Riley received a thank you note from a foster girl who was a senior in high school. She thanked Riley for planning a party that was special to all the kids, and that it had been her first visit ever to Santa!

At the party there is no difference between the biological and foster kids- everyone is treated like the amazing kids they are. It really is an amazing night, and Riley puts in so much work- starting in October to make sure no detail is overlooked.
